Speed cushions in Seattle to prevent speeding
In Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Department of Transportation revealed their new speed humps on some of the streets throughout the city to help prevent speeding and car accidents. They are called “speed cushions” and are seen as a “Physical Traffic Calming Device.” The purpose of the cushions is to improve street safety and speeding issues which can lead to car accidents or collisions. They were specifically designed to slow cars down but allow for transit and emergency vehicles to go over the sides without impacting their speed too much.
It is being debated whether or not these speed cushions will make any impact and help prevent car accidents in King County.
